How can neighborhoods be transformed according to the principles of the New European Bauhaus? Q2NEB holds the key
New European Bauhaus, green financing, the energy transition, and climate change adaptation—the Q2NEB training network prepares companies for the challenges and opportunities involved in transforming neighborhoods into sustainable, inclusive, and aesthetically pleasing living spaces.
The demands on the construction and real estate industries are constantly increasing. Companies in these sectors are facing many new challenges. How can they fully meet the future demands placed on buildings and neighborhoods?
Through our Q2NEB qualification network—Transformation of Neighborhoods According to New European Bauhaus Criteria—we are therefore pursuing the following main objectives:
- Training for employees of Austrian companies to facilitate interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration on the implementation of NEB projects, taking into account the European legal framework
- The development and deepening of new knowledge, as well as practical application exercises
- The development of innovation capabilities in the participating companies
Other goals include:
- Identifying barriers to the implementation of NEB criteria and developing solutions
- Application of NEB criteria using practical tasks
The workshops began in the spring of 2025 and were/are mostly conducted online (3 hours each). In-person sessions and field trips to the micro-neighborhoods under study are also planned to facilitate networking among the participating companies.
